Where is Spring?

Willamette Pass

This was the view ahead of me as I journeyed to Klamath Falls this past weekend to conduct training. Fortunately, I had a 4-wheel vehicle for the trip. The summit of Willamette Pass in the Cascade Mountains rises to about 5200 feet. Not much in comparison to the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, but definitely a change in altitude from the valley around Salem.

end of tunnel

There were even icicles hanging from the roof of the tunnel! When I crossed the pass on the return trip 48 hours later, the roads were clear and much of the snow had melted. It was certainly a pretty backdrop for the drive.
